Professional FeesLearn about the expected cost of using a registered migration agent

The migration advice industry and cost of using a registered agent

A migration agent operating in Australia must under law be registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (Office of the MARA). Migration agents that operate outside of Australia are not regulated and do not need to be registered. If you plan to engage someone to provide you with immigration assistance, it is in your interests to use a registered migration agent.

The cost of using a registered migration agent is not set. However, the following table shows the average range of professional fees charged by registered migration agents and gives you an idea of what to expect. The schedule of professional fees can also be viewed on the Office of MARA’s website at

* The figures above represent the range of professional fees charged by 70% of registered migration agents during the period from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017. The fees are in Australian dollars and include GST. The fees do not include the costs associated with applying for a visa such for example, the visa application charge payable to the Department of Home Affairs (which incorporates immigration & citizenship), the costs of health and character checks, and translations.

Our professional fees are fair and take into account your individual circumstances. Our fess are influenced by a number of factors including:

  • the type of assistance you require;
  • the complexity of the visa criteria;
  • any difficulties pertaining to your particular case; and
  • whether or not you would like us to take full carriage of your matter or you are interested in doing some of the work yourself to keep costs down
    (such as arranging a skills assessment).

A ‘Fee Estimate’ is provided once we know more about your individual situation. The Fee Estimate will include our professional fees, Australian government fees and, any applicable third party costs (such as IELTS test and skills assessment fees). Once we agree on the work to be provided and the costs, we enter an ‘Agreement for Services and Fees‘. Our costs are fixed so you have peace of mind knowing that there will not be an unpleasant surprise at the end of the process. Payments may be made in instalments.

We always work together with you to find the best solution in your particular circumstances.
